VTEC question....

RE: VTEC question....
basic stock for the f23 motor is about 4250rpms, if its something different then the ecu has been altered in some way, and if you say you feel vtec kick in and youre gauging it at 5k rpms then you probably cant feel vtec kick in, and yes..... it is kinda pointless cause its been talked about many times

You can definitely feel VTEC engage on the F23 motor. At least I do. Also, where did I say that the you HAVE to go 110mph for the VTEC to engage? Also, I said I don't know exactly, but I THINK it kicks in around 5, my bad, I was a little off. Last, this thread is not retarded, if someone has a question, we discuss it, right? What happened to common courtesy?

you didnt say it about the 110mph thing, the original poster did, or rather came off that way. and its sad that it took 6 posts (my post) for everyone to realize how ridiculous this topic and the original post were. this guy didnt need any help nor had a helpful question. this thread isnt helping anyone at all, its useless.

RE: VTEC question....
It helped me out. I learned something new...i learned tht the VTEC is "non-performance" on most Hondas(unless your wrong). And i learned a way to install a VTEC light. Sothis threadwas helpful and informative...
Apart from the "common courtesy" issue, good post....becuz i learned something.
And now i will go search and try to learn wat an f22 and h22 are. Thankz.

RE: VTEC question....
you can set vtec to kick in whenever you want, you just kinda defeat the purpose of having it the lower you go in an economy car
and isnt that method of having a vtec light kinda a bad idea? whats the voltage that the vtec solenoid operates at? cause the led would fully kick on at 2volts give or take based on that setup

RE: VTEC question....
h22 is the motor i have which is in my signature. they come from either preludes or accord SiRs mainly or the Euro R Accord. when it kicks in at 5k, it sounds very different and it pulls alot harder, like a little turbo. preludes and those types of accords are performance-orientated cars, with a performance driven VTEC. VTEC should not be engaged at 2500, there isnt enough oil pressure then to allow VTEC to enagage the cam. VTEC is engaged by oil pressure. funny how i made this thread "not useless". i guess youre right, you can make anything useful if you work at it, haha.
