***hig pitch engine noise ***
Hello
I have this high pitch noise coming out fo my engine when driving after I changed out my alternator belt and power steering belt on my 1998 Accord EX 4cyl. I just kinda put back the tention to what was before on the old belt. I think I have the belt tention incorrectly. Is this noise because of overtighen or too loose on the belt?
Help Please....

its probly too loose,,, however there could be more then one reason for this behavior. Humidity could be one of them.
Anyways if you are thinking about tightening it dont over tighten. It will decrease the belts life

what is the milage on the car?
Sometimes the tensioner will freeze into place and will need to be replaced. when you tighten the belt there should be no more than about .5 to .75 in of total defection in the belt.

yo 98 accord.......if noise came after you replaced belts, sounds like you have them either too loose or too tight
