Everyone suggesting punching-out-now are right. Don't buy cars which have been in wrecks; don't keep them after.

Where are you? This is especially important if you live in the rust belt. Major body work is never as rust resistant as OEM.

There is no way to tell if the work they did is safe even if Honda says such and such is safe to do. Short of cutting the weld and inspecting the metallurgic properties you cant tell. I'm amazed the shop is even attempting the repair.
