My '00 Accord has the standard (I guess) AM/FM/Cass radio with a separate CD player under it where the little tray goodie would go. The CD (single) player is getting goofy and I don't want to mess with it. I am considering a "premium" 1 piece unit from a more expensive Honda to drop in. Are the wiring harnesses compatible? I know I will have to have the theft code for it. I am looking for a simple bolt in setup without any mods. May also consider one of the 6 CD changers that will fit the hole if the harness is compatible. Thanks...

 

O.K. then, I'll answer my own question after considerable research, for the good of the order. It appears that the wiring harness plugs are compatible for most Hondas from 1998 forward. Also, if you have a separate single CD player under the radio, you can slip in a 6 disc changer (in dash type) as a replacement. Looks like the higher dollar stereos also fit right in wire-wise, but don't forget you will need the theft code.
