working on my cousin's 02 accord special edition an the gas gauge will work half the time when its not working it will stop at half tank believe it is a sending unit wondering if it would be easier to replace or fix any ideas?

 

Not sure about 02, but on earlier models it was accessible through the trunk. Autozone online repair manuals may provide some guidance.

I have read of success w/ sticking fuel level sensors by adding Techron fuel additive to the fuel. It reportedly cleans the variable resistor of sulfur deposts that causes the problem. I have not personally used this fix.
