Default 02' EX V6 Auto Transmission Help

Ok I recently bought an 02 Accord EX with the V6 and it is an automatic. I have been told that the AM Trannys have an issue handling the stock horsepower from this car. Is that true. Someone give me an explanation of this issue. Thanks

Yes, it's true (see my response to your previous post). Do a query on the internet for something like "Honda automatic transmission failure" and you'll get thousands of hits; here's one:

I think the issue with the 6th gen auto's is actually in the valve body of the trans. I'm not tranny expert but the attached is a pretty good read on the subject.

Now to the subject of HP and the auto trans. The Honda auto's don't have the "upgrades" that some other makes have available. I can build a powerglide trans (see the Chevelle )that can handle + 600 HP, this requires upgrades and a few mods. These upgrades for Honda's.....well they just are not there.

I'm out of "building" on the Chevelle, now trying to spend my time getting it "stock"/original. My dad bought it new in Aug of 66, have all of the paperwork from the dealer (invoice, ect) and notes of almost everything done to it since then. I know what I did to it in my younger days...so I know what to undo . One day I will get it back to how it was in Aug of 66.
