04 Accord - Flush Transmission?
Went and got my oil changed today. I'm just over 100,000 miles. The Tech told me I needed to Flush my transmission fluid and it would cost $110. Is this necissary? I've been reading that i should NOT do this.
Also he told me that i needed my fuel injectors cleaned... how do you do this? He said it would cost about $60.
Thanks

Honda auto trannys don't like to be power-flushed with an external pump. Drain/fill/drive & repeat a couple times is the DIY way to do it.
Some shops do a tranny-flush by disconnecting the cooler lines, & feeding fresh fluid into one hose while dumping the fluid coming out the other hose. That's OK, it uses the tranny's own internal pumps.
Either way, use Honda brand ATF, not Dexron.
Unless you have some very specific problems with your engine, you can clean the injectors by pouring a bottle of injector cleaner into the gas tank.
Now I think at 100k miles you're probably due for new spark plugs.

I should have verified that you're talking about an automatic tranny. Manual tranny only needs a simple drain & fill, just once. It's only the automatic where a lot of fluid is left inside when you drain it.
yes it's an automatic. so simple job, seems like! guess my husband could do it..ha
Well, if he wants to do it, there's actually some pictures of where the drain plug is located, in your owner's manual. It's slightly easier than changing engine oil, since there's no filter to change. Just have to find some place where you can throw away the old oil...
