Good to hear the remote works now.

The issue with the Immobilizer System may be due to either the PCM (car's computer) no longer recognizes the RFID chip (transponder chip) in that particular master key, or an issue with the RFID chip.

The RFID chip is in the key fob. This link shows the location of the chip, and how others remove a good RFID chip to transfer to a flip key.

Ah.... The key that's not working has no transponder chip in it! So are you saying that I can use a chip from any old 2004 accord key and put it in that space? If so, where do you think I can get one.

I see one's like this on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-ID46-PCF7936-Transponder-Chip-for-HONDA-ACCORD-CIVIC-MDX-CRV-/331533496955?hash=item4d30efb27b:g:hE0AAOSwcwhVMxW V&vxp=mtr
but it says it needs to be programmed at the dealer.

Thanks for all of your help.

With any different chip, the PCM will need to be programmed for it. Generally, Honda key blanks with the FOB can be purchased with the chip; but, they still need to be programmed for the Immobilizer System.

The Immobilizer System on your generation Accord is a Type 4 immobilizer system. The Type 4 system is unique, in that the transponder ID code in the key is a rolling-type code instead of a set code. For the most part, the dealership would have to do it.

OK, I get it. How much do you think they would charge to make a copy of the working key?
