Default 05 Accord V6 morning noise

I have an 05 accord with 100k on it. In the morning when cold there is a clicking noise under the hood. After warming up for 10 minutes it goes away.

My local tech states it could be a valve adjustment issue or a fuel injector but to not worry about it. I wanted to know your thoughts.

Also, if I drop off at a Honda dealer for a valve adjustment, how much should it cost? It seems like it would not be a bad idea.

i'm going to guess that you have not done the timing belt yet? if that's the case, drop the sheckels and get the timing belt, waterpump and valves adjusted all in the same trip whether to the dealer or indy shop. heck, i'd even go for a new serpintine belt, but that's just me book time labor is about 9 hours at whatever they charge, figure a couple hundred in parts, but if you sneak out for less than 1500 smackers it beats putting a new motor in due to a broken belt.

I replaced the timing belt and water pump 10k ago. Is that $1500 estimate including a timing belt? V

good to see someone is keeping up on maintenance. yes, that was with the timing belt. valve adjustment alone would be 4.5 book time plus valve cover gasket set. figure 400-500 bucks. and for what it's worth, injector noise usually won't go away after warm up.

A clicking valve that quietens when engine warms is not harmful and will run a long time. I ran a 90 Accord for over 100k that clicked on cold mornings for 5-10 mins then was quiet. If you can't stand the noise, then adjustment should resolve.

good luck
