Exclamation 05 ebrake doesnt work

I changed the driver rear caliper a few years ago and the ebrake stoped working afterwards. I changed that caliper and magically it started to work again.

Now I just changed the passenger side rear caliper and now the ebrake doesnt work again, I changed it for a second caliper and still doesnt work. everything works if I adjust the cable that is underneath the arm rest but in order for the lever to engage properly I have to adjust the nut alot and then the rear brakes drag alot. I had to loosen the cable to stop the brakes from dragging and I can easily pull the handle all the way up and the ebrake will barely hold the car at idle.

I have been searching everywhere and never found an answer. please dont ask me to adjust the nut in the armrest because that is not the issue.

The only thing I didnt do is try to use the original caliper again. I will try that when I get my car back in a few days, my fiancee borrowed it while I change her rear pads and caliper which is leaking fluid.

Description suggests something wrong w/ rigging of e brake cables to caliper arm/cam that actuates the caliper for e-brake function. If you disassembled caliper ebrake you may have something wrong.

good luck
