Hello, I changed the trans oil at 173k km and now I'm at 198k. I went to the dealer because I had a recall on the airbag and asked if I should change the oil. He couldn't say yes or no, went on to state that sometimes with high mileage vehicles it ends up causes issues because the debris in the oil is actually giving friction for clutches and if that is gone it could cause issues. Thoughts please?

 

I tend to change every 50,000 miles

 

What about the dealer saying it could cause issues?

 

Did it cause problems back at 173k km? If not, then I guess I would change it - at least at the maintenance interval from the owners manual.
