I don't have anyone that can ship me from the states. I will check ebay but usually stuff comes from china and the stuff from the us has duty and the shipping is expansive.

I've used harbor freight vacuum pump and an a/c manifold for DIY work. It gets the job done and is inexpensive in the US.

Some autoparts stores may have them as loaner tools, so look into that as well.

Does anyone know how much Freon the system holds? Seems hard to find the dye in Canada and harbour freight doesn't seem to have it. Hoe much dye do I need? I just found someone going to harbour freight on thanksgiving so I'm giving them a shopping list.

You should be able to buy the Freon with the dye already mixed. 19oz of Freon

I sourced the dyes from amazon, I bought 2 oz. On the youtube video I watched, the guy disconnected the feed hose from the manifold and added the dye there.

You can go that route also. Whichever works the best for you

Just add some. There is no actual set amount. A little goes a long way. I would say between a teaspoon and tablespoon. Me personally I just pour it without measuring know it does not take much.
