Default 06 Accord, jumping it and it's dying

2 months ago we got a used 06 Honda VP with less than 60,000 miles on it. It's a stick shift. As of yesterday, it won't start unless its jumped and once it starts it will sometimes suddenly turn off and then turn right back on - like the radio will go off and seems like the car is going to die &then it'll all come back on. We took it to a local place &they ran a scan on it. The reading they got was that theres something wrong with the PCM and they said we'd have to take it to the dealer.(we live in the middle of GM country &originally they weren't sure if they could even run the scan. But they did &that's what it told them.) So now we have to drive an hour to get to a dealer to have them fix it. There was no warranty on the car when we bought it & I don't know if I want to take it to the same place we bought it. The mechanic said there may be a warranty on the main computer since there's so few miles on it. Does this warranty exist or what do you recommend and how much should it cost?

Scan it again & get the actual OBD-2 code number. It's the letter P followed by 4 digits. Verbal explanations can get pretty creative.

The list in my 2003-2006 Helm shop manual doesn't have that number. Skips from P0720 to P1009.

Is it a V-6? I don't have the V-6 supplement to that book.

I saw something on a non-Honda site saying UP & DOWN SHIFT switch circuit.
