Default 08 honda accord 4 cyling alt bolt froze

My 08 4 cylinder accord alt went out trying to remove old alt. 1 bottom bold will not break free. using pb blaster and wiggling alt back and forth with hopes the nut will free up. Any other suggestions

I can't see the second bolt in the pics. Penetrating oil and some minor force can help. Hopefully it resolves the problem.

More leverage can help, but you risk snapping off the bolt. Heat is helpful, but you have to be careful around wiring harnesses and aluminum parts. I know my map gas/oxygen torch can heat the aluminum to the melting point.

I think the 08 alternator setup has a tensioner, so the alternator doesn't pivot to hold belt tension.

Hopefully you already resolved the issue.

Yes we got it off by using a pry bar and gently working it free. A gentleman who is a retired mechanic knew of THS problem and was well aware of the options. I'm very grateful for his help.

I do have a helpful suggestion. We had more room to work under the hood with better light by raising the hood up on a 45-degree angle propped with a board. Just make sure the wind won't grab it. Made the job much easier.
