Default 08 Honda accord EXL replace diver side window master switch ...help please

1st new to the forum so forgive me if I posted in wrong section...

08 Honda accord EXL

Due to wear & tear my diver side window button broke.i can no longer open or close the driver side window. Luckly it snapped in the up position. The other three window buttons work fine.

So im told my only option is to replace the whole diver side master window control switch. The local Honda dealer wants $ 250 for the part & $ 180 to install it. CRAZY.
I've seen the part online for as little as $80 & as high as $150.
I want to do it myself to save $$$.
is this a simple repair?

. Do i Simply swap out the old for the new? Or is there more to it?

should I disconnect the car battery 1st then do the swap.
will I need some kind of Honda code to reprogram my car keys?
Any response will be appreciated !
Thank you in advance..

If you do not want to take any chances of a short, you can disconnect the negative battery cable before replacement.

The assembly can be pried up from the arm rest. Then unplug the connector.

Remove the 4 screws holding the window control unit to the removed assembly.

After replacement, you have to reset the power window control unit.

Power Window Control Unit - Reset

1.Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
2.Move the power window all the way down with the driver's window DOWN switch.
3.Open the driver's door.NOTE: Steps 4-7 must be done within 5 seconds of each other.
4.Turn the vehicle to the OFF (LOCK) mode.
5.Press and hold the power window DOWN switch.
6.Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
7.Release the power window DOWN switch.
8.Repeat steps 4-7 three more times.
9.Wait at least 1 second.
10.Confirm that AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN do not work. If AUTO UP and DOWN work, go back to step 1.
11.Move the power window all the way down with the power window DOWN switch.
12.Pull up and hold the power window UP switch until the window reaches the fully closed position, then continue to hold the switch for at least 1 second.
13.Confirm that the power window control unit is reset by using the driver's window AUTO UP and AUTO DOWN functions:
If the window still does not work in AUTO, repeat the procedure several times, paying close attention to the 5 seconds time limit between steps.
If the window still does not work, refer to the master switch input test.

Question Drive Power Window switch Swap

I am curious, can you swap the power window buttons to all have auto down/up? Or even driver and passenger ones? Also my windows have become very slow esp when closing. How do I fix this? Thanx

The auto up/down function is through a control unit, so swapping switches won't help.

For the slow rolling up, use a q-tip and some rubbing alcohol to clean the rubber guides. You can purchase silicone spray grease to spray into the rubber channels after cleaning to prevent the window from dragging.
