1982 Accord LX won't stay charged
A couple weeks ago I bought a 82 Accord LX hatch for $100 and it's in pretty good shape but when we were jump starting it we hooked the wires up backwards because somehow the red was the ground but anyway it did crank backwards. After we realized our mistake we hooked it up right and it fired right up. We did blow a lot of fuses when we hooked it up wrong. Right now the battery won't stay charged and I was thinking that it may be a charge fuse of some sort that was blown? Is that a possibility? Also, when you put the brakes the car stutters and sometimes dies. Is there a problem with the vacuum system?
Thanks

Yes...possible vacuum leak;
When you step on the brakes the vacuum booster of the brake master cylinder uses a large volume of available vacuum.
The older Accords had a stand off voltage regulator on the passengerside fender.
It works by breaking the charging circuit when there is high enough amps.
I seem to remember that you can remove the cover on them and watch the action.
wheeeh........what a flashback LOL
