Default 1988 burnt ground

the main ground going from the top of my engine to the frame burnt up after the little wire on the starter blew off the starter. now the negitive side of the battery gets burning hot and the battery gets corrided when i plug the little wire into the starter. when i try to start it, acts like it is dead. when i hook another car up to it, it does the same thing. help please.

I do not know what you are plugging into the starter but there is no ground wire that goes to the starter
there is the main battery power wire ( off the positive on the battery ) that gets bolted into the 12 mm nut ( thick black wire ) has power all the time , the solenoid wire that gets plugged in ( black/white, only has power when you try to start the car up ) and a wire that goes from the solenoid to the starter motor ( blue wire ), the starter grounds itself when bolted into the tranny,,
chk the main fuse in the under hood fuse box it might be blown......

it is possible, that the starter has an internal short so when you plug the wires in, wiring gets hot and it also will blow the main fuse
