1990 Accord Dosnt Constantly Start
Hello all, I am in the midst of purchasing a winter beater that I am unsure about. It is a 1990 Accord 2.2 LX. The starter always cranks the engine over, always has spark; but sometimes dosnt start. While turning the key "on" the fuel pump does not prime every time. I need to flick the key 5 or 10 times than it will prime. I can drive the car hard, hills etc and it runs fine. So this makes me think that mabye the fuel pump is okay. Or... mabye the pump is shot? Do accords have dual pumps.. high and low flow?
And once again I apologize for the n00b question, just debating wheather to buy the car or not. I am a solid 3rd gen accord guy... iffy on 4th gens

Search my posts for the one on fuel pump replacement. I had a fuel pump that sounds similar to yours. It would sometimes refuse to engage and I would have to "hammer" it w/ repeated key On-offs till it would finally engage. Key for me was a tell-tale light that finally showed the pump would not start when power from relay was at the pump.
good luck
