>Hello<
I have a 1990 EX (F22A4 5 speed), bone stock with a "no start" problem.
The car has 231,XXX on the orignal motor. It has a head gasget leak and burns a moderate amount of oil.
When it does run, it occasionally pulls a code 43 (Fuel delivery system) after being warmed up. Also at STOP signs and red lights the car will lose rpms and Idle rough.
The car WONT:
-Start everytime
The car IS:
-Cranking
-Getting Spark
-Intermitantly sputtering and starting
I HAVE:
-Replaced distributor, spark plugs, fuel filter and pump.
Ideas?

Is your fuel pump turning on when you turn the key to the II position?
The pump will turn on an make a humming sound from the backseat area for about two seconds. Its a faint buzz/whirling sound, so you might have someone else turn the key and listen at the tank with the gas cap removed.

Turn the key to ON but don't immediately turn to START. Listen for the fuel pump to run for 2 seconds then stop. It's not very loud, so have the radio & blowers turned off.
If the pump doesn't run, (matching the occasional non-start), it could be the main fuel relay. Search for "main relay" & you'll find all kinds of stuff. Can be fixed if you're good with a soldering iron.
