Default 1990 Honda Accord DX makiing rattling type sound when I give a certain amount of gas

1990 Honda Accord DX, 2.2L, Manual

I have noticed for a long time that if I give my car a certain amount of gas with the gas pedal, while driving, I start to hear a rattling noise (Like almost as if something metal is rattling about or in place) coming from the engine. If I drive nice and try not to rush, I usually don't hear the rattling sound. What do you think it is? I think it might be getting worse because I have been putting some wear and tear on my car delivering newspapers...ughhh! Thanks for your help in advance!

Check your cat converter under the car and see if you have loose brackets..

Also check for loose heat sheilding or exhaust brackets.

on '92 EX 5 spd, 203,000 miles, mine has what I call valve clicking, but maybe it's piston slap??, most noticeable when it's cold.
engine, not exhaust related. very clearly related to pedal pressure as I hear it when I use gas even gently to go up a near hill in the cold AM.

you could make an audio and post up for clarity as to whether yours is a rattle or a clicking sound like mine.
I'm not doing anything about mine; and I might be off on source. but curious on what you're able to determine.
