1990 Honda Accord HELP
I have some questions, how many hoses are under the hood, what are the major ones you need to check and replace. Someone told me my hoses were hard and needed replacing but didn't tell me what, Family have told me the prices I was quoted are high and to keep checking around. As well, my key is getting stuck in the on position(where you turn your car on) as well when i turn it off it sometimes wont release the key, I was qouted 343.56 for what they call a Ignition lock cylinder, the part alone cost 209.56, thats what it says on my qoute is this high???? Also was told my idle vavle needs replacing.. anyone know how much that would cost? Last issue my battery light tends to flicker on and off while im driving but still stays alive anyone know why this could be happing thanks for your time

This is a little better in the General Tech. area, so I'll move it.
There's a lot of little coolant hoses and some of them are real difficult to reach. I've never seen a comprehensive "kit" with ALL of them.

There are numerous hoses; upper and lower radiator hose, two heater hoses 3-4 small coolant lines. All lines would be a fairly expensive job; several hundred dollars.
Suggest spraying some graphite into lock assy and working key.
IACV is electrical, but usually doesn't fail but requires cleaning carefully w/ throttle body cleaner. Clean throttle plate and bore at same time.
Battery light flicker can mean the alternator rectifier may have partially failed and charge voltage is marginal. Have alternator inspected for charge capability.
good luck

okay so it wasnt the alternator, the guy said it is the cords that go on top off your battery, said they were bad and that was why my battery light was comming on, the key switch problem is electrical, and this guy said my hoses are fine.. since one guy says hoses are bad, and the other says there good what should i do?
