Ok, so I followed the instructions in the manual and found that I do not have continuity from the terminals. Said I have to replace distributor assembly. I have heard bad things about aftermarket parts, but I cannot seem to find an origianl honda distributor. Any thgoughts?

I have had a Advance Auto distributor for 4 years w/o issues.
WD33 $50 off $125 or More for Online Orders

1. Buy online
2. Pickup in store.

I also have a spare OEM distributor "just in case"

Alright, now that i have diagnosed the code 8, could anyone help me with the code 20? I know it is a electrical load detector signal, but cannot seem to find how to diagnose it in the service manual I downloaded. having trouble navigating the thing!
UPDATE: here is a link to the manual I downloaded: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/464...da-Accord.html
Cannot seem to find a page on diagnosing the code 20. I am kind of lost inside the thing.
Also wanted to say thanks to everyone who has helped me in this thread so far! I am going to get a new distributor from Oreilly after work today, and will be back with results

So i just finished installing the brand new distributor, and while I was at it I replaced the spak plug wires. No more hard starts! It seems to have worked, although we have yet to field test it. It was cranking but having a hard time turning over. We started it up a few times and it turned right over and the 8 code is gone! woo hoo! Now I just need to tackle that code 20. Thanks again everyone!

There are several tests for code 20; but, first check that under-dash fuse no. 2 (15A) is okay.

Also, check the wires and ground connection at G201, located on the right side of the engine compartment. See attached pic.
