I found a 1993 Honda Accord DX for sale. The owner wants $1,200. The local Honda dealership did a multi-point inspection. They found that these items need to repair/replacement:

Valve Cover Gasket Replacement
Oil Pan Gasket
Rear main seal
Automatic Transmission Fluid Change
Fan/Drive Belt Replacement
Timing Belt Replacement
Ball Joint Replacement
Water PUmp Replacement
Alignment: After Ball Joint Replacement

I am unsure if this is a good deal. I have no idea how much these items cost. Can anyone give me an idea? Should I go for this? Please help!

 

Valve Cover Gasket Replacement - DIY $20-30 Shop Time - $150
Oil Pan Gasket - DIY $30 + oil Shop - $200
Rear main seal - a decent amount probably 350 for a shop to do it
Automatic Transmission Fluid Change
- I’d worry about this, if the transmission fluid is bad it could mean that the transmission was neglected and could possibly fail in the near future (2500 for a rebuild) fluid change DIY for $60
Fan/Drive Belt Replacement DIY - $20
Timing Belt Replacement Shop - $600
Ball Joint Replacement Shop - $500
Water PUmp Replacement - Done with timing belt
Alignment: After Ball Joint Replacement - $60


This car sounds like a bucket of problems and not worth it IMO
