Do the cold air intakes help much? I am looking into the prelude engines I guess I’m in a dilemma about wanting to use what I have to get into drifting or to search out an older bmw. But I do want more power from the car either way

 

A cold air intake won't significantly increase HP. You would gain maybe 3% and wouldn't notice it going from 130 to ~135 hp. Those filters let in a lot more particulates and you risk hydro locking the engine if you go through a big puddle. The engine swap is your best best to gain significant HP.
