Hi i am in australia and have a 1995 accord exi
The engine is F22B3 similiar to F22B6
It has a internal coil distributor
I left the car running the other night when i drop a stuff to my friend
when i jump into the car i found the engine is not running and i cant start it again
the engine will crank over but wont start
then i pull the spark splug and tested there is no spark at all!!
i was so dissapointed coz i thought honda is very realiable
i pull the distributor apart and there is a little bit oil on the bottom of the cap but the cap and the rotor looks very good
i purchased a second hand coil(exactly same as the old one its TEC)
put it all back on, then trying to start the engine
but it still wont start and engine sounds a bit different after i put the second hand coil on, sound turns a bit faster
I pull the plugs out to test them again
there are all sparking and there are fresh fuel on the spark plug so the injector are working
now i cant figure out why its not starting
the car crank normal before i put the new coil on
now even i disconnect the lead, or coil it still sounds different

i did not touch the distributor mounting bold so the timing should not be out, is that right?any one has the same problem before? please help.

 

Have you checked to see if the timing belt broke, leave the dist cap off-turn the engine over-does the dist rotor turn?

When you turn the key to position II - ON, does the CEL come on for a few seconds and then go off.

Also with all the cranking, might want to put a charge to the battery.

 

Hi what is CEI light?
I finally got the car start last week,
i pull one spark plug lead to test if there still a spark
then the engine seems like to start with 3 leads
then i put 4th in and crank it for a while then it start
but very rough with smokes come out of engine
i am afraid there something happend to the engine so i turn it off
I try to start awhile after and it start normal
its a bit weird
any way the car is start and drives fine now

CEL is Check Engine Light.

Problem could be ignition switch, coil, or ignitor. Fault is intermittent, so may have to wait until problem expresses continuously or at least reappears.
