Default 1993 cv axle question

I have found conflicting information on whether I can slide the replacement cv axle thru the dogbone/wishbone when replacing it, only needing to remove the ball joint and upper control arm to move the brake rotor/caliper out. I bought the car from a person who replaced the cv boot because it was blown, but I feel that the sound it makes when turning means I should just replace the axle. He replaced ball joints on both sides and did the brakes so everything is in good shape and shouldn't give me much trouble freeing it up. Also heard there is slight difference between orm Honda cv axle and aftermarket parts regarding the clearance thru the wishbone. I am mechanically inclined and will be doing the work myself. If anyone has any suggestions on the best parts for the right price I am listening also. Thanks for your help.

I've managed to install CV axle w/o removing the wishbone but boot had to be squeezed a bit. Removing wishbone is not that difficult.

No idea about dimensions of CV boots on OEM and aftermarket. They looked same to me.

good luck

The "aftermarket" are just the stock ones rebuilt with new bearings. The dimensions should be the exact same.

I have never had any issues with them.
