1994 accord EX CEL #4 possible p0355 (CKP sensor)
Hello fellow accord lovers,
So my new to me accord has a CEL #4 I crossed the wires and it flashes 4 times is how I know.
The car is in limp mode, it drives and runs fine until about 3k-4k is where it starts acting like it has a really bad launch system installed lol or like it has a rev limited installed at that rpm range.
I have done some research and changed my distributor as the CKP sensor is located in there on OBD 1 vehicles such as mine.
Nothing changed and what is left to look at are the wiring or the ECU/ECM.
Has anyone else gone through this? any advice is appreciated, my newer ecu is supposed to arrive on Tuesday.
Thanks for all the help!

I went through similar issues w/ Code 9 (CYL?).
You will need wiring diagram to ID wires and connectors. Go to DIY forum, Online Manuals post and download the 94-97 Accord manual.
First step is confirm CYL is good. I would say you've done that w/ replacement, but better to be sure by checking resistance against spec (on the road w/o manuals!) at the distributor connector. Typically resistance is about 750 ohms for EX model from memory.
IF Ok, next step is to remove the ECM/TCM module from mounts and disconnect electrical connector containing CKP sensor wires at the ECM. Again check resistance from wires to CKP sensor through the harness.
If resistance again checks good, then ECM is faulty. This was case for me and required replacement w/ used unit; ebay or car-part.com to source. Usually < $50.
good luck

Thanks for the reply and advice,
I never checked the resistances from the ecu harness, but I did check them at the sensor plug in and all 3 sensors read about 800 ohms and the given range for my specific motor f22b1 is 700-1300 according to some diagrams I found.

Testing again from ECM/harness connector will confirm no fault in wiring or connectors from distributor to ECM. If checks OK again, ECM is the problem.
I've had two ECM faults on my 94 EX.
good luck
