Default 1995 Accord Coupe Window Motor/Track Issue?

I got really pissed off and slammed the door really hard. Next time I drove the car I heard a rattle and I thought the window was down a bit so I pushed the up button and it rolled up and stopped rattling. Then a few miles down I cracked the window for some fresh air and as soon as I pushed the button it dropped like 6 inches. The button wouldn't move it up or down, just make a noise. I jammed the window shut with cardboard for now.

Now I'm working on trying to fix it, and I found a cable sitting in the bottom of the inside of the door. When I roll it up/down the cable goes in and out. I don't know where this cable connects though. It's cold here in Indiana, and I really need my window to be up. The cardboard doesn't really cut it because it gets "soggy" throughout the night and when I leave for school in the morning it isn't as taught as it was the night before so bumps make the window slowly drop down.

I'm told I'll never get the end of the cable back into the part it needs to be in, and to forget it and go buy the new motor/regulator. That part is $111 so that's not an option, and I don't have much more time before the snow rolls in.

All help is appreciated.

The cable for the motor is broken.

There are aftermarket suppliers for the part. 1aauto.com, or rockauto.com. Ebay is another source. If you are really strapped for cash, then a junkyard is an option.

Replacement is not too bad of a DIY. Here is a video on replacing the run channel. It is just a few more steps to replace the window motor/regulator.

You may want to clean and lubricate the run channel when you do this.

I actually took it out and looked it over. After realizing it's FUBAR'd I took it all apart and saw the problem. The cable binded all up in the motor. Loads of little springy bits flew out and went everywhere so I threw it all away and I'm going to get a new unit. It's $55 on Rockauto, which is much better than AdvanceAuto, even with the discount I can get.
