Angry 1996 Accord 2.2 transmission problem

Need help!My tranny went out at 137,00mi.If buying a used one do I have to buy a computer for the tranny to match the tranny?Also does the used tranny and computer vin numbers need match?Thanks in Advance,

If you find a transmission matching your generation and model (EX, LX) you should not have problems.

No you do not need a new computer assuming the transmission is the same as the stock one.

Check out car-part.com to find used transmissions close to you.

Any auto from an F or H series engine will bolt up and work fine with your computer. '94 - '97 is a direct swap. I've read that a '90 - '93 trans requires one of the mounting studs to be swapped out to mount on a 5th gen chassis but otherwise it's a straight swap. There are differences in gear ratios:

Stay away from 1998 & newer for a transmission.
- Completely different control scheme that's more computer controlled.
- These are known to be more "fragile".
