Is there any trick to removing the lock actuator and tailgate lock of my 1996 Accord wagon? I have removed all the screws but can not manuever the mechanism out through the opening on the inside of the tailgate. I have disconnected all the rods. Am I missing something?

Might have already gotten this. Looks like three scres to the latch, two rods and one electrical plug

 

Thanks. I got that far with all the screws out and the harness unpluged but the latch mechanism does not want to slip out through the inner opening in the trunk door. It keeps getting hung up on the molded metal contours on the inside of the door. No amount of prying or twisting will free the latch mechanism to slip through the opening. Any suggestions?
