1996 Honda Accord LX Starting issues
Hi, my 96 LX is having intermittent starting issues, If you turn the key to start it everything comes on as normal but nothing engine wise, I could try to turn the key multiple times ( 2 to 50 + ) like that and suddenly it will start. I also experience this using a remote starter. I have switched the battery out and the cables were/are tight.
any ideas what the root cause may be
Thanks all

Usual problem is worn copper contacts in the starter solenoid. They are repairable if you have soldering irong (100w at least) and enjoy that sort of repair. Most replace the entire starter.
Symptoms are a sharp click from starter solenoid when you turn the keyswitch to Start, but no engine turn-over.
If you're getting absolute silence, problem could be a starter relay (manual trans only) or possibly a ignition keyswitch assy fault, however keyswitch fault usually results in no dash lights when keyswitch is turned/released.
good luck
