All you need to do is carry a cell phone and a credit card!...Good luck on the trip...The Accord is pretty much bullet proof.

I would just make sure that all your routine maintenance is done. You know, oil changed, tune up done so its running good, coolant topped off, not due for any major services like timing belt or anything, make sure all your other belts look good too. I've never had a problem with my Accord, and I drove it from Oregon to Arizona, Arizona to Oregon and back to Arizona, and then Arizona out here to Tennessee.

Oh yeah, make sure you have a jack and all that. My car didnt have a jack when I bought it, which I didnt find out until I got a flat while driving back from Oregon the second time. That sucks, when its $100 for the flatbed to come pick you up and take you to Les Schwab lol.

Check that tire pressures are normal...over/under inflation could give you a blow out on a long trip. Also check your spare tire...its probably flat.

AAA just in case. I have driven mine 3000 miles round trip after 2 weeks of purchasing. Even with transmission problems, it reached back in one piece.

like everyone else has said, routine maintenance, tires, carry plastic, and a cell phone, etc.. remember long highway driving is easier on an engine/drivetrain so it will do it some good actually get everything nice and lubed up
