Default 1998 accord- front sway bar links

I plan to change the sway bar linkages on the front of my daughter's car. The Chilton manual says to tighten the nut to 14 ft lbs.
That doesn't look right to me. I would have thought it would be around 30 Ft. Lbs.

Can anyone confirm?

Tighten them how you want. I've never torqued links and haven had an issue.

Agreed. I used the Moog problem solver ends from Rock Auto. Much easier to work with, and are greaseable.

Well, after taking the links off and putting the new ones on, I put on a torque wrench when tightening the new nuts.
I actually went up to 40-45 ft lbs before I felt it was tight enough...

No way is less than 30 ft lbs enough...

29 lb-ft from the shop manual. Step 5 item A.
