(1998 Honda Accord LX) Dashlights not working
I noticed my dashlights are not longer working.
When i start the car the lights for the gears on the dash and the light for the miles lights up. But the second i flip my headlights on no lights work on the dash. Whats the problem? we have checked fuses and bulbs but no luck. Just the lights dont work on the dash, everything else on the dash works fine such as the speedometer, gas, etc. Just the dash lights dont turn on once the flip the headlights on. I also made sure the brightness is turned all the way up as well.

didnt notice it before until recently with the time changes when heading home in the dark. When i got the car it had no radio and we had one installed. I have been told it could be the dimmer switch? I was really hoping it was the bulbs but no luck. Also the lights where the shifter is dont come on as well. But im more worried about the dash lights coming on when i turn my headlights on.
Any chance of knowing if they were working before the radio install......I only ask as a common thing that happens is if a wire gets "crossed" when installing a radio on one of these is can blow the drivers multiplex that controls these lights....yes including the ones around the shifter.
Lets hope it is not that and something little. Yes it could be the dimmer - test it. On the pass side of the car, there is a fuse box, the #10 fuse (10 amp for a sedan or a 15 amp for a coupe) is the main power source for the lights in question - check it. While there check the #13 7.5 amp fuse as well....
