1998 Honda Radiator Fan keeps running
Greeting,
I bought a 98 honda accord recently and after every drive, the radiator fan keeps running for an extra hour. I would consider this to be a little bit to long. Do you have any idea of why this is and how I can fix it?

On earlier Accords (94-97), the engine off cooling was limited to about 15 minutes by the radiator fan control module. If it's running a lot longer, you may need a new or used radiator fan control module. Do you think the coolant is hot (>223F) when you shut down or shortly after you shut down? Radiator fan control module is behind the glove box on 94-97 Accords.
Fan is triggered by the coolant tempererature closing Thermoswitch B, after which the radiator fan control module continues to run the fan for 15 minutes, which should be enough to cool the engine.
good luck

I'll assume it's a USA car, but you didn't say...
In '98 there's only one fan switch & its on the thermostat housing. There is no fan timer module, and the fans are not supposed tobe able to run after switching the key off.
For this to happen, 2 things need to be messed up. The fan switch must be stuck closed (or that leg of the circuit is shorted to ground). Unplug the fan switch, try again, tell us whether the fans run with it unplugged.
Also, the fan relays must be getting power after the key is off. They get power full-time, but the switching circuit should only have power when the key is on.
Take out #4 fuse in drivers side dashboard fusebox. Does the fan quit?
The fan relays are in the engine-compartment fusebox, near the back-left (car's left, away from you if standing at the wheel.Remove the relays.Does that makes the fans stop?
Take out #57 & #58 fuses in the engine compartment. One for each fan. Do the fans stop?
