Default 1999 Accord Transmission Erratic Shifting

Ok, I recently purchased a 1999 Honda Accord LX, 4cyl. automatic...Knowing there was a transmission problem...I limp'd it home, while trans acts like it switches to neutral then regains traction after some time, also down shifts hard and erratic when slowing...I noticed there A LOT of trans problems in this era of Honda...I did drain the fluid and install 3 qts of Honda ATF DW-1 and also cleaned the soleniod screens located below battery tray...I have a 96 Accord that I just love, no problems whatsoever...Should I just drop the trans and repair/replace or is there a possibility it can be fixed w/o removal???? There were some codes stored before I recleared...One a gear ratio code, one a third gear soleniod code...Thanks in advance...

Post the actual codes you are getting. They start with the letter P and have four numbers, like P1234.

Its actually doing better since the fluid change, it is driveable, just a little quirky at times...
