I wouldn't say that because it's within specs and it's not a code that you're getting. Do you know what voltage your ecm was seeing at idle

Seanjordan20; I have no idea. I don't have the knowledge to undergo them procedures. Would I be money ahead to just( forgive me for saying) take it to a dealer and let them see if they can find the problem? I've been trying to avoid that because I've been disabled for 22 yrs now and on a fixed income but it's over my head now with all this new computer equipment.

To be honest with you I think it's something simple that has been overlooked. There's nothing wrong with getting it diagnosed by someone else. I just wish I was close to put my computer on it.

That's what I've been thinking that maybe it's something simple. I wish you was able to put your computer on it to. I'm frightened about what a dealer would charge to diagnose it.

Knowing what I've told you of the symptoms of the car what is the likelihood of the dealer being able to find the problem?

Seanjordan20; I just got back from my local Honda dealer where I had them to put my car on the diagnostic machine and here's what he found. Engine code P1491; he said start with a new EGR valve and clean the passageway ports going to the EGR. Well that was $60.00 thrown out the window. When I got out of the car when I arrived at the dealer I put my scanner on it and it showed P1491. Well I guess I'm back to square one. I may have not got the passageways cleaned out good enough and I put a new EGR on it a few days ago. ANY SUGGESTIONS!!!!!!!! ANYBODY!!!!!!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

The 1491 is for your EGR and being that it's new should be working. Did you verify the new one works as it should? You can check and clean the ports again. Check the EGR cable to ensure it's not damaged. I can't remember as I'm typing did you get an aftermarket EGR or OE?
