Default 2001 accord tranny

I own a 2001 accord ex l w/66k on it I recently recieved aletter about a class action law suite dealling w/ tranny failures. I have faithfully changed my fulids evey30k. the class action will get you a warranty to 109k. I already have a honda warrranty till 100k. that being said . My sister has a 2001 lx on its second tranny. My families mech who has worked on all our hondas(to many to list). said it is alube problem and that eventually mine will fail also his reomendation to sell before 100k. Does anbody know if the tranny fix aleaviates the lube prob or just postpones it?

Default RE: 2001 accord tranny

I was under the impression that it was a bearing design defect but I could be mistaken.... as far as a fix goes I do believe that the only thing the suit covers is giving you an extended warranty and as much as I hate to say this I would suggest selling it before 100k (I'm assuming you have a v6, I don't think the 4cyl were affected....) if you are worried. Some of them may run just fine, some won't..... I wouldn't own one myself....
