2001 Accord V6 2nd gear surge
Any shift down to 2nd comes with a surge of rpm then a hard slam into gear. No issues up shifting from 2nd, and no issues with any other gear. Also, when at a stop, manually moving the shifter to the 2 position creates a similar ‘thud’ into gear. Solenoid related?

It could be solenoid or possible internal valve issue. When was the last time you changed the transmission fluid?
Have you had the codes scanned? Most autoparts stores do this as a free service. If you get a code, post the actual code on here and we can provide some advice.

You have an 01 accord which those models are notorious for transmission issues. How many miles do you have on it. Usually between 150k - 200k you will start having subtle issues then it's a count down from there. The better you take care of the transmission (changing the oil) the more miles you will get out of it but they are doomed from the start due to a cooling issue. I would either wait for a code or change the B solenoid (I think that is the one) to see if it helps. Eventually it will go out. PAhonda is correct with the route to take.
I know my friend got 270k out of hers (2000 accord) and I made sure I changed the fluid every 35k -40k.
