2002 Accord A/C on and off
I have a 2002 4 cyl Honda Accord. It's been great and zero maint for many years. The A/C will not cool for a few moments, then it will work again, then off again. The cycle time seems to be about 60 seconds on and 60 seconds off. The blower speed doesn't change, but it's clear it's cooling well, then note, the working again.
Ideas?

Check that both cooling fans are running. Loss of one or both fans would cause high system pressures that might disable compressor until pressures decline, then repeat cycle.
If fans are running OK, check condensor face for excessive grass, dirt, and bugs. This could also cause high system pressures and long off cycle.
If above don't help, you need to check system high and low pressures to see what's happening. Check w/ car fully warmed, 1500-2000 rpm, AC, recirculate, and car in shade. Record system pressures and changes during cycling. Also note ambient air temperature.
good luck

Chances are it just needs to be recharged, especially if you haven't done so in a while.
