Default 2002 Honda Accord lcd backlights

I just bought this Accord and the backlight to the clock, climate control, and odometerlcd's don't light up. Everything else is fine. I can read them during the day. To read them at night I have to turn on a light. I also notice the light round where youput the key doesn't light up either. I have checked some fuse and theywere good. Maybe I am not checking the right one. I have read that the clock light not working. But it is hard to believe all these have burned out. The controlson the climate control still light up.

If the backlights are burned out it would be a real PITA to replace them individually without replacing the whole unit. I doubt the parts are readily available and even if they are be prepared for a lot of disassembly.

The clock, HVAC controls do have an issue, but the LCD displays seem odd to have gone out like they did for you.

Are you sure you checked ALL fuses?

Also, can you give us your yr/make/model in your sig?

assuming it's a 98-02 accord, yeah, those bulbs LOVE to go out. the clock light bulb, climate control bulbs and odometer bulbs can and do go bad. ppl let them go until it looks like night in the car. then they want 5 bulbs replaced.

the key ring light is an LED. if it's out you can try grounding the white/black wire from it. if it illuminates you have a problem with the driver side multiplex.

if you are interested in replacing them on your own let me know, i'll post instructions if you need them.

1. Pry out the clock
2. Remove the screw behind the clock
3. Remove the 2 screws on the bottom of the black console trim
4. pull the trim out starting from the bottom, then the top
5. Unplug the climate controls
6. Replace bulbs, they are #74 i believe
