Default 2003 accord blower quit working

My blower for my heater/ac quit while I was driving today. I had no indication other than it quit blowing. It will not come on with any adjustments to the air controls. I checked the fuses. What else should I check? The car is a 2003 2.4.

Check for power to the blower motor electrical connector w/ fan switch ON. If you have ~12v, the blower motor is gone, probably bad brushes or windiing fault. If you don't have 12V, then a switch fault or fuse you have missed.

good luck

Ok, I did the besttroubleshooting that I know how. I hooked the motor up to a 12 volt battery and the motor ran fine. I checked the voltage at the connector to the fan and it was 14 volts.

When I plug the connector into the fan, the fan comes on for an instant (lessthan a second). The fan will not continue to run. Any suggestionsor help as to what the problem is?

Doesn't the fact that the motor runs when hookedup to a 12 volt battery eliminate themotor as the problem?

The motor running w/ 12V from battery most likely eliminates the motor. It is perhaps possible the blower motor is intermittent due to weak brushes. Try thumping the motor housing when fan should run and doesn't. If fan comes on and blows, worn brushes are the problem, and a new motor is required to fix.

If the motor is OK, the problem is most likely the blower motor relay (under dash fuse box).

It could be a faulty heater fan switch, but it would have to be damaged in all positions or a bad ground circuit from the switch. Seems less likely.

good luck

New resistor fixed it. It is starting to get HOT here in Texas.

Default 2003 ACCORD AC stopped blowing...only blows for 2 sec when car restarted

I was driving my 2003 accord few days ago and the AC shut off without any indication of anything going wrong. I stopped, turn the car off and restarted it and then turn on the AC again. The fan blew for 2 seconds and shut off. I turned the fan up to speed five and there was no response. What could be the problem? Any help will be very much appreciated. Thanks

You should probably start a new thread to avoid confusion for others when the search for this problem. The procedures described above are a good start. Unplug connector going to the fan, turn the fan on, then check for voltage.

Default New Resistor/Transistor Worked!

Hey guys on this thread!

Thanks for the info.

You guys saved me probably like $200 in labor and who knows how much time in diagnosis!

All it cost me was $65 for a new resistor shipped over night and like $17 for a multi-meter.
