2003 Accord - AC and blower not working
Hi
AC and the blower suddenly stopped working.
So I took the car to Honda.
After checking it, I was told that 3 things need replacing.
1) Engine room relay ASSY 38250SEA003
2) Relay ASSY 39792SDAA01
3) Relay ASSY power 39794SDAA02
My question is: What is 'Engine room relay ASSY 38250SEA003'?
I know that the left part of it functions as a relay and fuse box, but what else does it do?
It is very expensive... $492!!!!!!!!
Thank you

1. What trim level is your Accord (e.g., LX, EX, EX-V6, etc.)?
2. Do you have auto-climate controls?
3. When you turn the blower to its highest setting, does it work? If it doesn't work except in the highest setting, then it may be the blower transistor.
4. This is a U.S. Accord?

I can't find the exact part number corresponding to the 2003 U.S. Accord; so, I am guessing your car is not made in the U.S.?
The U.S. Accord parts list shows 38250-XXX-XXX related to the entire under-hood fuse/relay box. So on the U.S. version, that has to do with the headlights, fans, battery, ECU, horn, defroster, ABS, power windows, etc., etc.

Hi
The trim is 20E.... I think. Honda Accord frame LA-CL7
Yes, it has auto-climate control.
No, there is no reaction from the blower no matter what the setting is.
No, it is a Japanese Accord, I am in Japan.

JDM Accord is similar to USA "Acura TSX". Lots of stuff is similar, but not exact.
Typically for Hondas, the under-hood fuse box contains the ELD (electrical load detector). Some kind of current-shunt for measuring the electrical current demand on the system.

Yesterday I took the car back to Honda to have the parts mentioned in my first post replaced.
After they were replaced the AC and the blower was still not working!!!!!!!!!
Then I was told that a Power Transistor needs to be changed Part No: 79330SDRA01...
Waited 3 hours for the part to arrive, it was replaced and AC and the blower started working.
And the cost went up by another $50.
In the end I can't be certain that any part apart from the Power transistor was broken...
In my experience with Honda is that they like to change parts that do not necessarily need changing...
I hope my post will help someone solve their AC and blower problems.

That dealership who "fixed" your car messed up. That transistor is a common problem on accords and was likely the only component not working. Just search blower not working.
Don't go back there. You may want to call the Honda corporation to see if there is anything they can do.

Yes, I will not go back there.
I do not think that I can do anything about the parts that have been changed already. I should have told them on that day to put my old parts back and just replace the transistor and see it that will fix the problem....
And if it did then I could start a s*it storm. If I say something now they will just take it as another foreigner starting trouble....
This is a big problem in Japan, 99% of people do not know anything about cars and trust the dealers without question.
There are no repair/maintenance manuals or parts available (except oil, oil filter and air filter and spark plugs) like in the rest of the world.
I am not joking 99% of drivers do not know how to change a light bulb, so it's a free service at gas stations and car accessory shops...
