2003 Honda Accord EX 4 cyl A/C not working, dual zone auto HVAC
Followup to my last post:
Friend with a better scan tool scanned body codes and got a whole bunch of them including B1000, B1006, B1008, B1050, B1055, B1056, B1057, B1058 and B1059.
Trying to do some diagnostic tests with either the MICU or the gauge cluster and his scan tool kept losing communication on the low speed bus and throwing up errors.
He also has a diagnostic suggestion website thru his work which said to troubleshoot lowest B1xxx number and go from there, which pointed at the MICU.
Went back to the Upull lot and spent another forty bucks today and got a gauge cluster and an MICU out of a wrecked '05 Accord LX V6
Swapped the MICU out first and didn't really notice any change, still no A/C
Swapped gauge cluster out too and suddenly felt like I had a whole different car. AC works, got back a warning chime when key is in and ignition off, have a brake warning light I didn't have before (assuming I have an ABS code I need to address as fluid reservoir is full) and my door open status lights on the dash all suddenly work again.

Thanks for posting the solution. Sounds like the gauge control module was messing up the B-CAN network. Troubleshooting the CAN network is difficult without advanced scanners or an oscilloscope. DIY diagnosis will only get more difficult when dealing with control modules failing on a network. I wish I could give better advice when CAN networks are having problems.
