2004 Accord clutch master cylinder.
2004 Accord EX 5 speed std. Replaced clutch master cyl about 6 mos. ago along with the slave. Its a bitch, but I got it done. Thursday, I pushed it in and heard a POP. The pedal stayed on the floor. Looking at it today, It has the same problem the other had. That triangular piece on top with 3 screws broke the head off of one of the screws! Same place as the other!!!Fluid blew out, done. Why does this happen twice? I want to go to a place and get a 3 super hard bolts to put in it and crank them down and hope they hold. crappy screws cant take the pressure? Thanks, Folks!

That is the first time I read about this problem on here.
Is this the original clutch? And/or, how many miles are on it?
I am just wondering if there is some other problem causing excessive buildup of pressure when you push the clutch pedal.

origional clutch. Looking around last night, there is a section of flex line between the shock tower and the tranny case. I had a mitsubtichy with a power steering hose that broke down inside and got plugged. possible? 190K miles

When you press the clutch, do you feel high resistance or pushes easily. High pressure should produce some additional clutch pedal resistance.
When you press a clutch, it's fairly rapid so any restriction in hydraulic path would create higher pressure and slow clutch release response.
good luck

not sure what high resistance would be. Previous veh. was a Dodge 2500 Ram 6 speed diesel. the clutch on that beast assured not everyone could borrow it from me That flex hose between the shock tower and the tranny is a low point in the system. A natural goose neck. In a bit I will take it out and see if it pukes stuff telling me it is plugged. I just need a part # after that.

Also, just technically curious. What is that triangular piece for anyway. Took it apart and just don't see the reason for it. 2 rubber seals to leak, and the holes in and out are the same diameter. Not trying to get advantage of differing pressure. Anyway, just wondering...

tried again and it blew again. First try. I took all the lines off and the master. i put a good sized wrench on the lever that pushes the throwout bearing and I cant move it. does it take more than i can give or is it binding? that would make sense. That could have been the source of the problem all along. Waddayathink?
