So, I just bought this car yesterday, and am noticing that my cabin light won't when I close the door. This seems like a really small problem. I have the selector in the middle, where I assume it should be. Any suggestions?

Check the door switches. Most likely one has come loose from mounting or is damaged causing an "open door" which closes the circuit and allows light to come on. If ceiling light switch Off position turns light off, you can just about be sure this is the problem.

Great! I'll assume its a loose switch. I'm sitting in my car now waiting to get inspected and its working as it should. Now, where would these switches be, and do I have to pull my door apart? No biggie if so.

 

Should be on door end. A rubber encapsulated switch that closes when door opens and opens when door is closed. Sometimes they become dislodged or damaged.
