Default 2004 Accord not detecting key

Hello everyone brand new here, to start my car started having transmission problems as in being hard to put into gear while shifting, as i was trying to take it into the shop my car would turn on but would not turn over, I tried pushing it over but my brakes ended up being locked up. The mechanic works behind my house so i had him come over and look at everything, we tried bypassing the clutch safety switch but that didn't work, we also noticed that the fuel pump wasn't turning on either. Which made us think the car was going into anti theft mode. I did notice that on the dashboard before this issue arose i would have a green key light on but now it just flashes, so we thought my key went bad I just had one recut and reprogrammed but that didn't fix anything and the locksmith said it has something to do with an antenna in the car detecting the key, i tried googling it but i only got results for keyless entry but that works fine. Any help would be appreciated because i am currently stumped.

Im not sure if my signature worked but its a 2004 Honda Accord 5 speed with the 2.4 DOHC

If a good key is inserted, the key light will stay on for about 2 seconds, then turn off. When you remove a good key, the key light will blink five times.
A bad key will have the light on for about two seconds, then keep flashing. Sounds like this is happening on your car.

Any recent work done on the the car or any issues/accidents?

The key lock funcations are separate from the imobilizer system. The imobilizer control unit/receiver is the antenna for the key security and is a component of the key cylinder on the steering wheel. The OEM part number is 39730-SDA-A11. Kind of expensive for the part, so you may want to remove the steering wheel cover and look at the electrical connection for any issues.

If you go down the junkyard route to save money a lot of hondas from 03-07 use the same part number. Go to hondapartsonline.net and search the part number and there will be a list of vehicles that use the same part.

Only work done was replacing the shocks about 2 years ago and a new power steering line besides that just basic maintenance, and issues besides that transmission issue nothing else
