Thanks guys, I really wish my map lights could come on when I opened the doors I just converted to LED's so it would of been a really cool blue glow

Actually I would think having two bright LED lights in the front is a bit too much. If you had just the LED in the center, your car's cabin will have an ambient blue light which to me would be pretty cool!

Fabb Capo - did you ever get this solved? I am having issue with my stock front dome/map lights coming on when the doors are opened. The map portion works, and up until recently the drivers side door part worked (The passenger side has not worked for a long time), and now nothing except when I push the map button on. The rear dome works fine.

I am frustrated and have taken it apart, but can't find the short or whatever is wrong.

Yes and no. I have the LX model so my map lights were never supposed to come on in the first place when I open my doors which sucks because I changed all the interior light to leds and I feel the Dome light and courtesy lights on the door arent enough. The map lights would of gave it a great sexy blue glow.

Ken Im not sure if you mean how did I take it off but theres little slits in the map lights and I just used a flat head to pop the plastic off leaving the bulbs exposed. Hope that helped.

Thanks. I'll look for it today. I played golf til dark yesterday as the weather was good for it.

Yes, I was wondering how to remove the push button type cover on these lights. I don't want to break them and was looking for info on how do get this done. This thread was the only one I found that looked like anyone has addressed this removal. Thanks again!

Default Door switch for map lights 2004 Accord V6

Hello, I'm new here and I have a similar problem with my driver door not letting the map light come on. It works when I push the map light and the passenger side works as it should when I push the map light on or when the door is open. So it's not the bulb as both work. Where is the switch on the driver door that activates the map light? I don't think I have a short as my battery never goes dead and everything else is working fine. Can someone guide me in fixing this? Any help would be appreciated.

See image in post #7. Also, your Accord has to be an EX or EX-V6 to have that feature.
