Default Reading Light Replacement

My passenger reading lamp went out. I am referring to the push button light next to the sun glass holder at the center of the windshield.

How do I replace that bulb? I don't want to damage the ceiling or scratch the plastic.

What year and model? Every one I've seen you just need a small screwdriver to pop the plastic cover off. Pretty simple

Ccoltmanm,

I'm not certain what model year Accord you own but on my ex's '03 sedan the process was pretty straight forward. There were two screws that had to be removed so that you can expose the bulb. After that you simply remove the bulb from the electrical connector and it's a matter of screwing in the new bulb and replacing the cover. Here's a diagram for reference:

For the 7th (2003 - 2007) and 8th (2008 - 2012) gen Accords, the map covers can be pried off by hand or by using a small flat head screwdriver. You can use a shop towel to prevent scratches. The retaining tabs on the lenses on the 7th gen Accord is only slightly different from the 8th gen Accord. The attached picture shows the 7th gen Accord lenses. There is no need to remove any screws.
