Default 2004 LX Horn problem

Hello all, new here but have a question. Have had my car for just over three years and haven't had any problems with it at all (I mean nothing). Last week, my horn stops working. I go and buy a new fuse, and still nothing. I live, literally, across the street from the dealer where I bought my car and they of course want me to come in and have it looked at.

I'll say right out that I'm the least technical person when it comes to cars and other posts I've read about wiring and ground, etc. already have me confused.

Any ideas as to what could be causing this or should I bite the bullet and let the Honda guys take a crack at it?

Do the brake lights work? Does the horn have power and ground going to it?

The brake lignts do work. I have no idea if the horn has power and ground going to it. I'd assume so. I didn't do anything to the car and nothing has happened to it (aside from the horn not working) in the last week. I personally think the wire going from the horn to the receiver or whatever wire is involved is just loose as I tend to use my horn a lot.

But I'm afraid to take my cover off my steering wheel in fear that it might set off the airbag.

It would probably be better to check it than assume.

You Chio, I think he is saying he doesn't know how to check for power & ground. How about you tell him how to check?
I'd tell you how if I knew

find the horn, find the two wires going to the horn, take a volimeter + turn it to 20V. touch the + voltimeter lead to the positive wire on the horn, and the negative lead to an un-painted part of the chasis. have a friend hold down the horn. The voltimeter display should jump to 12-13 volts. if it stays at 0, theres a break or short in the wires or switch and thats what broken. If it displays a voltage, that indicates a broken horn.

the horns on a 04 are mount grounded ,, when you press the horn button , it will give a ground path to the relay thus energizing the relay and allowing power to get to the horns

you need to chk and see if you get power at the blue /red wire at the horn.. get a test lite , unplug the wire going to the horn, attach the probe to the wire end, and the other end of the test lite to a good ground., have someone push the horn button the test lite should lite up.
If it lites up you got bad horn (s)

If it does not lite up
,, and you said the fuse was good fuse 13 , 20 qamps ( brake lites work ) it could be a bad horn realy located in the under hood fuse relay box .. or a wiring issue ,

try this and let us know ,,
if you have no clue on how to do this , you need to take car to a shop
